Some Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Every year, Bryan and I say, “we are going to plan something awesome for next year…” Well, Halloween always sneaks up on us.  At the beginning of October, we are like, “okay, we really need to think about what we are going to be this year…” then we get to the week before Halloween and we both say, “we REALLY need to think what we are going to be…”  So needless to say, we are always scrambling last minute to plan a costume together.  So here is what we have done in the past as last minute halloween costumes that can be done quickly for us procrastinators…

  • Cruella Deville and her Dalmatian (2014)
    • Bryan and I did this back when I lived in OC and we were doing distance. I believe Halloween was a Friday night that year, because I remember picking him up from the airport and then meeting up with friends in Newport Beach.  To dress up as Cruella Deville, I wore a black dress with red satin gloves, a faux white fur wrap, and a plastic cigarette holder.  I then gave Bryan a hooded sweater that had dalmatian print and a red bow. Other accessories to include are dog ears and a leash (not pictured).  The complete costume cost was about $100. Needless to say it was a success!  (BTW, I apologize for how grainy the quality of the picture was-we all know the iPhone cameras have improved vastly).

  • Lilo and Stitch (2015)
    • In 2015, we celebrated Halloween with some of our friends in our small group from Orange County. We went to a church named Friends Community Church…which is an amazing church if you are ever in the area!! We went to a friend’s house that was in our bible study for some yummy bites, scary movies, and some screams.  Bryan was Stitch so he paired blue jeans with a blue t-shirt and then found a Stitch hat off Amazon.  Then I bought a grass skirt and some flower leis to wrap around my head and wrists along with a red sports bra for a total costume cost of about $75.

  • Lola and Bugs Bunny from Space Jam (2016)
    • This was super fun and easy costume!  It was Bryan’s turn to choose our costume and he wanted to do something that included his passion…basketball.  So of course, he chose Space Jam!!  I went to a screen t-shirt place and got two tanks made in place of the jerseys, wore some athletic shorts, tennis shoes, bunny ears and tail.  Whole costume cost was about $80.

  • Skeleton (2016)
    • Also in 2016, I worked on Halloween and since I work in a Children’s hospital, I couldn’t go to work and not dress up.  So what did I do??  I dressed up as a Skeleton!! Best part of this costume was that the bones were glow in the dark!! The radiologists loved it!  I believe I bought this outfit from Urban Outfitters for about $50.

  • Danny and Sandy from GREASE (2017)
    • This one was probably my favorite one that we have done yet. Everyone knew who we were immediately. I also have to admit that I love that era. I wore an off the shoulder leotard with black jeans, black belt, and of course, red lip stick and heels. Bryan grew out his hair as time got closer to Halloween to try and do the John Travolta hair curl.  He wore tight black jeans, black t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, black Vans with white socks.  Fun fact, did you know that Bryan never watched Grease before last year?  I made him watch it before Halloween because you can’t dress the part and not know the character right?!  Whole costume cost was around $100-120.

Now, good luck all of you procrastinators! I would love to know what you have done in the past or what you plan to do this year!! Comment down below! Happy Halloween! 🙂

xoxo,
