Out with the old (2018)…In with the new (2019)

I hope everyone had a great Christmas — I know Bryan and I did!  We got to visit with some friends and spent a lot of time with family.  And now, I can’t believe we are about 14 hours from 2019! Given the close proximity to the New Year I thought I would share our top events from 2018 as well as my New Year’s resolutions.  First, here are some of our highlights from 2018:

2018 was another great year for the books and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has to bring! Speaking of 2019, are you a person that likes to set resolutions?  If so, have you thought of your New Year’s resolutions for 2019?  Or are you a person that thinks resolutions are “silly?”  I actually love this time of year. One because the holidays in general, but then I also enjoy this time to reflect on the past year and think how to better myself in the next.

Here are my top 5 resolutions:

  1. Regularly attend the gym again. The last four months of 2018 I have really slacked on my gym routine.  I maintained my yoga routine, but have struggled with consistent weightlifting.  So I plan to get back into the gym 4 days a week, with doing weights 2 times a week and yoga 2 days a week.
  2. Drink more water.  This has always been a personal struggle of mine.  I have never really liked water….call me weird, but I find water so boring!!  So when I drink it, it needs to be ice cold or have a lemon in it. My goal is to drink 24oz a day.
  3. Get more sleep.  I would like to make my sleeping routine more regular.  I am such a night owl so it is difficult for me to go to bed at a decent time and then I’m always mad at myself when it comes time to getting up in the morning. I would like to go to bed before 11pm on weekdays.
  4. Read the Bible daily. Even if it is a verse, I would like to read more.  It is so important to be in the Word daily, and I need to make more time in my daily life.
  5. Do a handstand yoga pose. I am able to do a handstand, but I would love to hold it for 5-10 seconds and do a cool pose such as Scorpion or handstand with splits.

Are you going to be setting any New Year resolutions for yourself? If so, have you started to think what you want to accomplish in 2019?
