The Sweetest Yes
We’ve been waiting for this moment—and it’s finally here.
After presenting to 12 different expecting mothers over what felt like an eternity (though it was really just 3 months and 1 day since becoming an active family), we’ve been chosen by an amazing, brave, and beautiful expecting mom. There really are no words that can describe our gratitude after we met her. Within seconds of meeting her, we knew this was the start of something truly life-changing.
The decision to create an adoption plan for a child is one of unimaginable strength. We have such deep admiration and respect for our expecting mother as she is an incredibly brave woman. We feel so honored that she has chosen us and her courage is something we will never take for granted.
As much as we want to share all the details, Bryan and I are not going to disclose all the details or information about the expecting mother we have matched with or her situation so we can protect her and our future child’s story. It is not our story to share, but I will tell you that God was in every detail and it was absolutely beautiful to see how it all unfolded. Adoption is not just about receiving the gift of a child. It’s about honoring the people and the stories that make that possible.
As we walk forward, our focus is on building a relationship with our expecting mother by listening, learning, and offering the space and support she needs. We know this journey will evolve and shift in ways we can’t predict, but we are committed to walking it with compassion, integrity, and open hearts. Our expecting mother is due early November and so that leaves us about 3 months to prepare for their arrival and we can barely wait! We also know the gender, but we’re keeping it a bit of a surprise for you all so more to come!! 🙂
What we need: your continued support
1. Prayer Requests – Your prayers mean more than we can express. Thank you so much for all those that have been praying for us. We ask that you continue to pray for:
- Expecting mother: That she stays safe, healthy, and receives all the care and support she needs. We also pray that she feels deeply supported by her family and friends near her, by us, and by God. Lastly, pray for our relationship/bond to flourish over the next 3 months as well.
- Our future child: For their health, safety, and that they continue to grow big and strong!
- Our marriage: As we prepare to welcome a child into our home, we ask for prayers so that our bond remains strong and that we can face this new chapter with unity, grace, and patience.
2. Online Registry – If you’d like to contribute in a tangible way, we’ve created an online registry with items that will help us prepare for our little one’s arrival. Every gift, big or small, will make a meaningful impact as we get ready for this life-changing journey.
3. Donate financially – In the US, the average cost of adoption can be $50k+ which covers home study costs, agency fees, birth parent costs such as medical care and housing, and/or legal fees. Adoption can be costly, and while we’ve been working hard to save, we know there’s still a long way to go. If you feel led to help in a financial way, we would be deeply grateful. Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in helping us bring our child home. Also, thank you so much to those that have already helped financially. We feel incredibly blessed that the costs were slightly lower than anticipated! As you know, we have raised a whopping $31,530.53, and our goal has been modified to reflect the exact adoption fees that have now been estimated for our case, which are $45,525.00. This means we are 69% to goal!. Thank you thank you thank you!!
If you’d like to donate, you can do so via our adoption webpage (similar to Go Fund Me), Bryan & Taylor Adopt Together webpage. Details below in #4 Spread the Word.
Fundraising can be sensitive so please ask us all the questions you’d like. We’ve prayed and thought about this a lot and we are more than happy to share our thought process. Here is a list of what we’ve spent so far and current expected costs. We’re happy to share an itemized version for those that have made a donation 🙂.
